Q: When does the garden season start?

A: We are open June through October, weather being the determining factor.

Q: How do I reserve a date and time?

A: Dates and times are held with a non refundable deposit, without the deposit no date or time is held and it becomes a first come first serve basis.

Q: Can our gardens hold the reception too?

A: Our insurance prohibits alcohol on premise.

Q: What do I do if it rains?

A: Most people have a backup site, like a church or some indoor option.

Q: How many people can the garden accommodate?

A: Site selection determines the size of the event.

Q: What if it is really hot?

A: We suggest a canopy for shade from the sun or in the event of small garden showers. These can be rented and brought in with prior notification.

Q: Can we bring in audio equipment?

A: A lot of weddings now require audio equipment for music and for your vows to be enhanced. Audio is brought in own your own, we do provide electrical outlets.

Q: What if we need more time in the garden?

A: This needs to be thought of at the time of booking since our dates and times are first come first serve basis. We can not guarantee extra time for your day later in the season.

Q: How much does extra time cost?

A: Extra time is booked at $300.00 an hour. Time must be booked in by the hour, no exceptions.

Q: Do we provide runners for the bridal party to walk done?

A: No, they can be brought in, removed, on your own. As this is lawn we recommend something like rose petals.

Q: Is there enough parking for a large wedding?

A: A large parking area is available across from the Gardens. Handicapped parking available also.

Q: Can I meet with someone over the details of my wedding before the rehearsal?

A: Yes, School House Gardens will have someone meet with you, but you must call and arrange an appointment.

Q: Will someone from the gardens be present during my rehearsal?

A: In most cases there will be someone on hand for questions only.

Q: Will someone from the gardens be present during my wedding?

A: School House Gardens always has someone present on the grounds during wedding ceremonies.

Q: How can I pay for the 3 hour fee?

A: One half is paid at time of booking the date and time. The remainder must be received no later than 30 days prior to booking date. Payment can be made by personal check, cashier check, or money order only. Plan accordingly for photo’s as this is included within the three hour contract period. Additional time may be booked but only when done in advance and for a fee.

Q:  Can we bring alcohol?  Can we smoke?

A:  No, our insurance prohibits alcohol on premise and there is no smoking allowed.

Q: Is there wheel chair access?

A: Yes, there is wheel chair access to all of our ceremony locations with some restrictions. As the gardens have paths that are mowed grass wheel chair pushing/driving can be somewhat difficult.

Q: Where can quests access toilets?

A: A portable toilet is located on premise.

Q: Sometimes things happen.

A: The most common damage/cleaning deposit deductions are for:

  1. Admission for guests exceeding the stated rental limit.
  2. Rental party, vendors, or immaterial objects occupying the rental site before or after the stated rental time.
  3. Excessive cleanup of rental site.
  4. Damage by guests to plants in the garden.
