Terms and Conditions
- No children of less than 12 years old are allowed at events without parent supervision and control.
- The maximum capacity of the School House Gardens depends on selected site.
- Reservations will be confirmed on receipt of a minimum non-refundable receipt of $400.00 in cash, cashiers check, money order, personal checks. Without a deposit your time and date can not be held. It is on a first come first serve basis.
- Additional time can also be booked at an additional cost of $300.00 an hour. All additional time must be bought in advance. To ensure extra time is available, reserve at the time you book your wedding.
- Ceremonies include: 3 hours in the garden and an hour rehearsal during the week of your wedding. Photo session time is included in the total time of your wedding ceremony reservation.
- Cost is $800.00 (2008) divided into two payments. A $400.00 no refundable deposit and $400.00 balance due 30 days prior to your wedding date. A damage/cleaning deposit of $200.00 is required at time of second and final balance payment. This deposit will be refunded within 10 days of wedding date if all terms and conditions are met.
- School House Gardens reserves the right to refuse the wedding party the use of the gardens if the event would cause damage to the gardens.
- School House Gardens only allows certified animals that assist people with disabilities on site.
- All events must conclude before dusk. There is no lighting in the gardens.
- Fees are subject to change without notice.
- In case of cold or inclement weather, exterior space heaters may be brought in by the rentee.
- Folding white chairs may be rented through School House Gardens or brought in by the rentee.
- Canopies can be rented through School House Gardens with prior notice or be brought in by rentee with prior notice. Location and set up at the direction of School House Garden Staff.
- Alcoholic beverages may not be brought on to the School House grounds.
- Originals of contracts may not be removed from the School House Garden office.
- Events will not be contracted more than one year – to the day – ahead of the event.
- Guests may stroll throughout the gardens.
- Guests may not throw rice, confetti, or bird seed in the garden.
- No drinking water is available. In hot weather you may wish to provide some water for your guests.
- Grass is not a good surface for high heel shoes.
- All personnel and items brought in must be removed from the School House Gardens by the time allotted in the contract.
- Wedding rehearsals (one hour Monday-Thursday by arrangement) must begin no later than dusk or 5:30 p.m. whichever is sooner. After this time an additional security fee of $50 may be charged.
- The contract time is all inclusive in which set-up and clean-up has to be accomplished by the rentee.
- School House Garden staff will set-up and break down chairs and tables rented through us.
- All professional photographers and videographers must have a permit from School House Gardens to take formal pictures in the gardens. It is the responsibility of the photographer/videographer to apply for a permit in advance. The permit can be obtained at the School House Gardens office. The cost is renewable each year at $50. Be sure your photographer/videographer has obtained such a permit.
- The rentee is responsible for damages to the gardens.
- The rentee must be responsible for all guests and understand the release of all claims on School House Gardens, their employees and families.
- School House Gardens is not responsible for acts of nature in the gardens or parking area during events.
- All rentals by rentee must be picked up by 9:00 a.m. the following morning or the party will be charged $300.00 per hour.
- All plant and floral decorations will be the expense and responsibility of the rentee. Floral deliveries should be made the same day as the event. Please make arrangements for any decorations to be picked up immediately after the event. Decorations cannot be placed at the site in advance of the reserved time and must be removed as soon as the wedding has ended. At no time may anything be attached to any walls or structures in the garden without prior written permission from School House Gardens.
- Musicians, set-up crews, decorating crews may not enter the rented site, or drop off materials or equipment prior to the beginning of the rental time.
- For safety reasons, no wire, ropes, strings, cords, ribbons, signs or poles can be strung from plants, stakes, trees, nor laid on the ground.
- School House Gardens is not responsible for any personal property. Valuables should not be left unattended. The rentee is responsible for all damages incurred during the rental period.
- School House Gardens has no control of distractions from outside the gardens - planes, vehicles, trains, neighbors, etc.
- We take great pride in our gardens, in order to preserve our plants and grounds your wedding party and guests must be careful not to destroy or damage these plants and to understand that the walkways are cut grass and uneven.
